Dart Board Vacation Planner

I love this story.   Once I read it, I knew I had to share it. This Midwestern couple uses a dart board to select their family vacation every year. They pull out a map of the United States, flip a coin to select the dart player, then the winner throws the dart at the map. They’ve been doing this  since 2004.

I’m not sure I’d ever do something like this but it sure sounds fun and spontaneous.  As a travel consultant, I’m already predisposed to the idea of travel but this idea really had me thinking. I’m afraid we’d get up the courage to give this a try but then one of us would throw the dart and land somewhere I’d never think to go on vacation and then call out, “Hey, how ’bout 2 out of 3?”After a few more changes to 5 out of 7 or some other form of cheating, we’d land on a spot that sounded interesting. So much for sport.
